RAZR V3

The much-hyped ultra-slim phone from Motorola has finally arrived. One look at it and you will feel like throwing away the phone in your hand. Labelled as the RAZR V3, this metal-clad flip phone is by far the slimmest phone designed to date.

The RAZR V3 is an elegant looking piece that comes with an internal antenna, a light-blue electro-luminescent backlight keypad and is just 13.9 mm thin. Wow! While the internal display has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and supports 65K colors, the external display supports 4,096 colors with a resolution of 96 x 80 pixels.

This quad-band GSM phone (850/900/1800/1900) measures 98 x 55 x 13.9 mm and weighs 95g. The phone has a host of features, which include a VGA camera, GPRS, speakerphone, MP3 ringtones, Bluetooth connectivity (class 1 long-range), MPEG-4 video playback and downloading Java games via WAP 2.0.

The 4x digital zoom only adds to the extra features. The VGA resolution is a big letdown considering that most new camera phones come with a 1 MP image resolution. Messaging features include the standard MMS, EMS 5.0, while one can also download mails using the email client, which has support for POP3, SMTP and IMAP.

The phone comes with a talk time of 400 minutes, a standby time of 250 hours and runs on a 680mAh Li-ion battery. Data interfaces include Mini USB, SyncML and Bluetooth.
