EXCLUSIVE BREAKING NEWS - Model Girl attempts suicide at Abhishek's Wedding (Watch Video)

April 20, 2007 11:58 IST

In a Bollywoodish twist, a model cum actress who claimed she was married to actor Abhishek Bachchan attempted suicide outside the Bachchans' home early on Friday morning.

Jhanvi Kapoor cut her wrist outside Prateeksha, the Bachchans' bungalow in Juhu, claiming she unable to bear Abhishek Bachchan's marriage to Aishwarya Rai later in the day.

Kapoor tried to file a complaint against Bachchan Jr with the Juhu police, but complaint has not been registered.
"We did not register the complaint because she was in a drugged state. We told her to come later with her parents," senior inspector of Juhu police station, Pradeep Shinde, said.

Meanwhile, Kapoor told mediapersons that she met the actor while he was filming for Dus. Jhanvi was one of the dancers in the song, Dus bahane. She claimed that they have been dating for the last two years, and were meeting regularly in Juhu.

'We exchanged phone numbers and used to interact regularly through e-mails,' Kapoor told the media.

She also claimed that Abhishek put sindoor on her forehead last year, and married her in the presence of some friends.

However, when asked for a photograph or any other proof of wedding, she refused to give it saying, 'When you love someone, you don't need proof.'

Meanwhile, television channels claimed that Kapoor was a divorcee and was married to one of the sons of Maulana Kalbe Sadiq of the Muslim Personal Law Board in Lucknow.

She claimed her father was a Kapoor and that he died when she was a year old. Later, her mother was remarried to a Muslim.

'I was never married,' Kapoor insisted. 'My mother is in Scotland and I have been in Mumbai for nearly two years now,' she added.

The Bachchans have maintained silence on the issue.

LCD v/s Plasma TVs: Which is better for you

If you're planning to buy a flat screen TV, then you probably have one big question you want answered: plasma v/s LCD, which is right for me?

The two different camps of flat panel display standard will, of course, gladly tout the advantages of their own standard and the deficiencies of the other. But which type of display, plasma or LCD, is better? And which will give you more bang for your buck?

What's the difference?

Plasma and LCD panels may look similar, but the flat screen and thin profile is where the similarities end. Plasma screens, as its name suggests, uses a matrix of tiny gas plasma cells charged by precise electrical voltages to create a picture. LCD screens (liquid crystal display) are in layman's terms sandwiches made up of liquid crystal pushed in the space between two glass plates. Images are created by varying the amount electrical charge applied to the crystals. Each technology has its strengths and weaknesses, as you'll read below.

Is there a difference in picture quality between plasma and LCD screens and normal CRT TVs?

It's not what's happening behind the screen that's important - it's how the screen performs as a television that matters the most. In that regard, both plasma and LCD sets produce excellent pictures, although many home entertainment specialists and gamers still say CRTs produce the best overall images (although plasmas and LCD sets are quickly catching up in terms of quality).

Those same home entertainment specialists will tell you that for basic home theatre-like usage, plasma screens have a slight edge over LCDs. This is because plasma screens can display blacks more accurately than LCDs can, which means better contrast and detail in dark-coloured television or movie scenes. The nature of LCD technology, where a backlight shines through the LCD layer, means it's hard for it to achieve true blacks because there's always some light leakage from between pixels. This is steadily improving with every new generation of LCD, however.

What advantages does plasma have over LCD?

Apart from better contrast due to its ability to show deeper blacks, plasma screens typically have better viewing angles than LCD. Viewing angles are how far you can sit on either side of a screen before the picture's quality is affected. You tend to see some brightness and colour shift when you're on too far of an angle with LCDs, while a plasma's picture remains fairly solid. This is steadily changing, however, with more and more LCDs entering the market with viewing angles equal to or greater than some plasmas. Plasmas can also produce a brighter colour, once again due to light leakage on an LCD affecting its colour saturation.

Plasma pundits will also tell you that some LCD screens have a tendency to blur images, particularly during fast moving scenes in movies or in sports. While that was true for older generation LCD screens, newer models have improved significantly - so much so that the differences in performance between LCDs and plasmas in this regard is almost negligible (here's a tip -- if you're shopping for LCDs, check the refresh rate. The lower it is, the better the image quality in fast moving scenes).

Perhaps the biggest advantage plasmas have now over their LCD cousins is price, particularly in the large screen end of the market. Plasmas typically come in larger sizes than LCDs at a cheaper price. Plasmas generally run between 42 " and 63 " wide. LCDs, on the other hand, top out around the mid 40-inch mark, and are more expensive than similar-sized plasmas.

What advantages does LCD have over plasma?

It's not all doom and gloom for LCD though, as it has the edge over plasma in several key areas. LCDs tend to have higher native resolution than plasmas of similar size, which means more pixels on a screen. If you're a true high-def junkie who's keen to see every pixel of a high-res 1080i/p image reproduced pixel-by-pixel (providing you have a source that high, of course), then LCDs are the way to go.

LCDs also tend to consume less power than plasma screens, with some estimates ranging that power saving at up to 30 per cent less than plasma. LCDs are also generally lighter than similar sized plasmas, making it easier to move around or wall mount. LCD pundits also point to the fact that LCDs have a longer lifespan than plasma screens. This was true of earlier plasma models, which would lose half of their brightness after more than 20,000 hours of viewing. Later plasma generations have bumped that up to anything between 30,000 and 60,000 hours. LCDs, on the other hand, are guaranteed for 60,000 hours.

You might have also heard that plasmas suffer from screen burn in, an affliction not as commonly associated with LCDs. Screen burn in occurs when an image is left too long on a screen, resulting in a ghost of that image burned in permanently. Newer plasmas are less susceptible to this thanks to improved technology and other features such built-in screen savers, but we still hear anecdotal reports here of burn-in with new plasmas.

Which is better value for me right now: Plasma or LCD?

If you're in the market for a big screen television -- and we're talking 42-inches and above -- then we'd suggest plasma as a safe bet. Plasmas give you more bang for your buck at the big end of town, and while LCDs can give you better resolution, the price difference is currently too wide. However, if money's not an issue and you want the sharpest image in town, then a large LCD is for you. At the smaller end of things (15" to 36" TVs), LCD is the only way to go if you want something slim and tasteful. And the best thing is that LCDs are getting cheaper all the time.

Kitchen Bells-Recipes - QUICK COOKING TIPS

Here is a checklist of easy cooking hints you can exercise while whipping up those meals in a jiffy!

Wish to chop onions without shedding tears? Chill the onions - either in the refrigerator, by keeping them in a covered container for about half an hour or simply cover them with ice cubes/iced water for a while before chopping them.

Banish the burnt chilli smell and subsequent bouts of coughing while frying or roasting dry red chillies by adding a pinch of salt.

Place potatoes and apples in a bowl of cold salty water to keep them from turning brown.

While making your favourite delicacy, be careful not to add the eggs directly to the hot mix. Instead stir as you add the eggs unless you want little lumps to form in the hot mix!

Stock condiments, pulses and spices in transparent, airtight jars. Not only are these containers more sturdy and durable, they prevent spices and other non-durables from gathering moisture and going bad. Stack these jars in easy-to-reach places.

Do not wait for entire content in the jar to be exhausted; replenish stocks on a regular basis.

Cooking in pressure cookers and flat-bottomed pans also helps in saving time. Besides, using non-stick ware for cooking is also a good idea as these utensils ensure that less oil is consumed.

Draw up a weekly menu for meals. This will help you stay prepared in advance and avoid the rush-rush situation in mornings.

Cut and refrigerate vegetables in advance. This is a great help in saving time. Veggies like tomatoes and onions that are used in abundance in most Indian (non-Jain) preparations should be cut and stored in the freezer. Another useful way to save on time is by preparing a paste of garlic, ginger, green chilies and coriander leaves. This paste can be used as a base in most culinary preparations.

Buying fish? Make sure that the eyes are as clear and bright as those of a live fish. If the gills don't smell fresh, the process of decomposition has already begun and the fish should not be eaten.

Keep your kitchen shelves clean by spreading a plastic sheet or grease proof paper over the shelves where oil, ghee or pickle jars are kept.

For soft and spongy 'idlis' add a little horse gram paste to the 'idli' butter-mix well and keep aside for half an hour before use

To reduce the pungent flavour of green chillies slit them and boil in water for two to three minutes before use

To get rid of black stains from aluminum or steel vessels rub them with charcoal pieces. They will shine like new.

To protect rice from insects, dry 50g. of mint leaves, powder them and add to 10 kg of rice. Not only will the mint leaves keep insect at bay, they will also impart a delicious flavour to the cooked rice.

Video Conversion Guide For Apple iPOD ?

Hello Friends, I have got many mails from people who owns iPOD. Many of them have a trouble converting video file to format which iPOD supports. iTunes can do the job, but still there are people who face problems with different formats. I am giving this information for such people who got problems in converting videos for iPOD.

I am going to use a FREEWARE Called - Jodix Free iPod Video Converter

Advantages of this software
Free, Simple interface, Amazing video and audio quality, Supports a variety of formats.

We all know that the iTune's in-built video converter has its problems and hence other developers have tried to create software that can provide better quality of service for the same. However, they're mostly trialware or shareware, which can either only convert half the video or only a certain amount of video files till it ceases to function.

The Jodix Free iPod Video Converter, is a free (yes, free!) software which can convert DVD/VCD, AVI, MPEG, WMV, RM, RMVB, DivX, ASF and VOB files to the MP4 format.

Here is the process on converting video.

The main screen is nothing flashy-Its got the usual 'Add', 'Remove', 'Convert' Files, 'Help' and 'About' options. Along with these, you also have an 'Edit Task' option to make any changes to the files that have been made ready for conversion and the 'Live Update', which as the name suggests, provides updates for the software if any are available. They also have a 'Cool' option, which actually is an advertisement of their other software. That's all there is about the main screen.

Firstly, when you add a file for conversion, they provide its information in a small window which is connected to the converter. Once you're satisfied with the input info, click NEXT. Now this is where you can change the settings of the output file. You can select where the output file will be placed, its video resolution (don't change it from 320 x 240) as well as change its video and audio quality. Based on the settings you've changed, the output file info below it will change and give you an estimated file size of the output file.

the highest quality has been selected in all 3 cases. Also, after you select all the settings and click NEXT, you will get a 'Tag Editor' window. If you need to change the tag, you can do so here or else just click OK. Then all that's left is to click CONVERT.

Video 1

Size: 46.51 MB

Format: *.avi

Video quality: 2000 kbps
Video Resolution: 320 x 240
Audio quality: 160 kbps
Estimated output file size : 45.53 MB
Output file size: 21 MB
Output Quality: Amazing

Video 2

Size: 349 MB
Duration: 46:22
Format: *.avi

Video quality: 2000 kbps
Video Resolution: 320 x 240
Audio quality: 160 kbps
Estimated output file size : 755.59 MB
Output file size: 364 MB
Output Quality: Amazing

Video 3

Size: 700 MB
Duration: 1:23:03
Format: *.avi

Video quality: 2000 kbps
Video Resolution: 320 x 240
Audio quality: 160 kbps
Estimated output file size : 1.5 GB
Output file size: 528MB
Output Quality: Amazing

There aren't many additional features in this software, but that's what makes it so simple. However, there are some which are worth mentioning. For example, while converting a file, you can hide the converter in the tray and summon for it with just a click on its system tray icon. It also supports batch file conversion, incase you plan to really load your iPod with a huge quantities of videos. One great feature that I find missing in softwares nowadays is the 'Automatic shutdown after conversion'. You can also pause a conversion at anytime.

Absolutely free! Overall, an amazing software and a definite must have for all 30GB and 60GB Video iPod users.

Download This TOTAL FREEWARE from here

DOWNLOAD Server 1

DOWNLOAD Server 2

There is
No Need to pay any money Or NO CRACK required for this software, As itz Freeware

Please let me know if anyone find any problem in converting video.
