Make Your Own FTP Server

Hi Friends,

Today, I am going to show you how to make your own FTP Server on your own System..

This is made by Prem @ www.planetofprince.co.nr ( Please Give credits )

1. Go here and make an account and select the domain name, whatever you want.

2. Download and install their "Dynamic Update Client" (DUC) here.

3. Go to your router configuration page and "Advanced/LAN clients." Under "Dynamic Addresses" it'll show your PCs current address. Click on "Reserve" and then "Apply." Now you'll see that the address has moved under the "Static Addresses" field.

4. Now go to "Virtual Server" under the same "Advanced" page. Make sure it's showing the same LAN IP that you just made static. Under "Category" click "Servers" and then "FTP Server" under "Available Rules." Click on "Add" and "FTP Server" should move under "Applied Rules."

5. Go to "Tools/System" and click on "Save and Reboot."

6. Now go to network properties, of your system, and put the IP address that's under the "Static" field. If you don't know how to do that, then I don't think this is the right place for you. Still you can PM me for that info as well.

7. Download and install any free "FTP server." I'm using FileZilla. It's pretty easy to use and light on your system. You can download that here.

8. Run the DUC and under "Hosts" it'll show your domain name. Click on the box there and it'll say ": DNS update successful."

9. Run the "FileZilla Server" and add groups/users and give them whatever rights you want. PM me if you want to know how to do that.

10. Do all the settings properly (you don't need to change most of the default ones) and you're done!!!

Now tell your friends (and me) the FTP server address and start sharing your stuff. Enjoy!!!

Orkut cute is a program that let you send scraps to all your friends in orkut. It also alerts you when you receive new scraps send notifications when forums are updated.

2. Sorkut Firefox Extension

This is a toolbar to search for the threads with specific words in the title. Just give the commumity id of the community you want to search, enter the search term and click Search.

3. Scraboy

This is a freeware program that let you browse orkut and know when you or your friends receive new scraps. You can add emoticons, colour and formatting to your scraps with ease. Sending scraps from your desktop is also as easy as writing an instant message.

4. Orkut Scrap Helper

This is a cool firefox extension that let you scrap faster by providing messaging options in your own scrapbook page. It also reduces the number of steps to scrap someone who has scrapped you to just one!.

Proper Way to Clean LCD Screens Of Your Laptop or Flat Screen Monitors

The TFT or LCD screen is one of the most expensive component of your notebook or desktop computer and they're very sensitive to dust, fingerprints or even when you cough or sneeze without covering the mouth and nose.

Unlike the standard CRT monitors with Glass screens, you are not advised to clean an LCD Monitor by wiping it with a piece of dry lint-free cloth since the sensitive display is likely to get scratches from dust particles.

So how do you clean an LCD monitor screen without buying any of those expensive LCD Monitor Cleaner solutions or Monitor Wipes available in the market ? We look at some proper methods and precautions before you clean the monitor [should apply to HDTVs, projection TVs and Plasma TVs as well]

Think of LCD Displays just like the soft and delicate skin of your newborn baby - Be very gentle and never put even the slightest pressure on the computer screen with your hand.

Second, you need to find a piece of soft cloth - old cotton handkerchiefs lying in your mom's wardrobe should be fine but don't try tissue papers, toilet rolls or even shower towels as the fabric will scratch your screen permanently [like sandpaper or utensil scrubbers]

Either turn the monitor off or set the background to black and hide all the desktop icons and minimize the open windows. This will easily help you identify the dirty areas of the monitor.

To prepare the solution for cleaning LCD monitors, you will need deionized or distilled water and vinegar or iso-propyl alcohol - Don't use tap water or mineral water as they could leave white marks on the screen because of the dissolved salts.

Dilute the vinegar or IPA with distilled water [1:1] and spray this liquid on the cloth. Never ever spray liquid directly onto the LCD screen. Moisten the cloth with this home made LCD cleaner and gently move the wet cloth in just one direction - from top to bottom.

Word of Caution: Be sure that the LCD screen is dry before closing it or using the computer. Do not use any solutions that contain Acetone, ethyl alcohol, toluene, ethyl acid, ammonia, or methyl chloride. Never touch the LCD screen with your fingers as this can cause the pixels to burn out.

I am showing a small trick which can be used to send the chatting message using Just IP address of the computer.

Here how it works..

if you want a private chat with a friend or client on you Network, you don't need to download any fancy program! No Messenger Software Required :)

All you need is your friends IP address and Command Prompt.

Firstly, open Notepad and enter:

Now save this as "Messenger.bat". Open the .bat file and in Command Prompt you should see:

After "User" type the IP address of the computer you want to contact.
After this, you should see this:

Now type in the message you wish to send.
Before you press "Enter" it should look like this:

MESSENGER
User: 192.168.0.1
Message: Hi, How are you ? Hows Manager doing today :)

Now all you need to do is press "Enter", and start chatting

Mini Movie is a web based service though you need to download a storyboard software to select pictures and the theme of your movie - the movie theme could be a vaction, wedding, family outing and more.

Over 41% of people have some fear or anxiety dealing with speaking in front of groups. People who have this fear can experience all kinds of symptoms: Sweaty palms, accelerated heart rate, memory loss and even difficulty in breathing.

Everyone, even experienced speakers, has some anxiety when speaking in front of a group of people. This is perfectly normal. 2. Know the Audience - If possible, greet some of the audience as they arrive and chat with them. It is easier to speak to a group of friends than to a group of strangers.

3. Know Your Material - If you are not familiar with your material or are uncomfortable with it, your nervousness will increase.

Practice your speech or presentation and revise it until you can present it with ease.

4. Learn How to Relax - You can ease tension by doing exercises. Sit comfortable with your back straight. Breathe in slowly, hold your breath for 4 to 5 seconds, then slowly exhale. To relax your facial muscles, open your mouth and eyes wide, then close them tightly.

5. Visualize Yourself Speaking - Imagine yourself walking confidently to the lectern as the audience applauds. Imagine yourself speaking, your voice loud, clear and assured. When you visualize yourself as successful, you will be successful.

12 Survival Tips for New Employees

If you have joined the Job newly..

Then here are few good tips from PREM which will help you adjust in a new company.

(1) Master the core competency of the job fast. Get good numbers (sales, IPG, service problems solved, web site unique visitor count, etc.) entered to your credit, and print out reports to document your accomplishments. Worry about peripheral duties later. Figure out the real priority of your boss, and make that your priority, basing every statement and action on it.

(2) Be aloof from others, maintain a professional distance, polite, but unyeilding, revealing next to nothing about yourself.

(3) Learn all you can about your boss and the next few levels up, but be a dense mass of complex mystery to other employees.

(4) If you must engage in small talk or gossipy chatter, speak only of the weather, nearby restaurants for lunch, The Apprentice (latest episode), and your eagerness to use your expertise to help achieve corporate goals. Brag modestly about past achievements at other jobs or on the football field.

(5) Self-containment is vital for job security reasons: the more you reveal about your personal life, habits, marital status, children, friends, political beliefs, music tastes, etc., the more a corporate foe can twist and turn against you.

(6) Demand, photocopy, or snag extra copies you find lying around, of documentation of corporate policies and performance forms.

(7) Use corporate incompetence and mediocrity to your advantage. Do what the others should be doing, and set an outstanding example of obedience and competence. Do not allow the goofs and sandbags to corrupt you. All companies are rampant with lazy, disrespectful, insubordinate mediocres who bully the dickless patriarchal or raging bitch managers. This marvellous secret reality of business must be seen to believe. Hang it there. You should see it within your first few days at the job.

(8) Carefully acquire and preserve all names, phone numbers, email addresses, etc. of persons who handle sexual harassment, employee theft, and policy violations. Often, these problems will be handled by separate functions, not necessarily Personnel or Human Resources departments.

(9) Be alert to sexual innuendos, bawdy jokes, inappropriate attire, lewd glances, or your boss singing loudly along with a dirty song on the radio, and making snide remarks to you, as you try to focus on your training and systems operations. Strike back at corporate unfairness, unlawful firing, territorial paranoia, mind games, negligence, and ineptness with your own finely honed office-politics weapons.

(10) Employment is war. It's you against mis-managing manager wussies, dopey mission statements, canned sales presentations,

hysterical hype, customer dis-service, and shoddy products. You must protect the consumer from the evil intentions of the company...and you must try to protect the company from customer hatred and retaliation by being serious about customer relations strategy.

(11) Be suspicious of all staff on your first day. Wonder who is working FOR the company and customer, and who is working AGAINST them by pursuing their selfish agendas. The people who smile and shake your hand are the same ones who will scheme against you and stab your back.

(12) The day you quit or are fired is a better day than the day you were hired.
